UK: Khalifa of Islam Inaugurates Two New Ahmadiyya Muslim Mosques in West Midlands

“Love for All, Hatred for None defines the ethos of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and it underpins our mission in every mosque. These are abodes of peace where we worship God and give thanks for His blessings.”

Muslim Caliph calls for end to hatred as he opens two mosques in Midlands

The supreme leader of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community opened two mosques in the West Midlands at the weekend – and reminded Muslims of the need to love, not hate.

His Holiness, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, led prayers at both Baitul Atta in Wolverhampton and Baitul Ghafoor in Halesowen.

The mosques have cost £850,000 between them with all funds raised through voluntary donations by members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the two localities.

Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad told an audience of mayors, MPs and faith leaders that the purpose of mosques is to worship one God, but that Muslims must never entertain hatred for anyone.

“A person can never attain the pleasure of God by acting in a cruel way. If anyone enters a mosque with hateful intentions, he will not receive God’s blessings. You should not bear any enmity in your hearts against anyone,” His Holiness said. “God shows mercy only to those who show mercy to others.”

His Holiness also praised the “high moral values” of those committed to tolerance and respect for all faiths.

Regional President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Dr Mohammad Ashraf, said the new mosques in the West Midlands also represent the community’s ongoing commitment to build bridges between communities and to strive for peace.

“Love for All, Hatred for None defines the ethos of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and it underpins our mission in every mosque. These are abodes of peace where we worship God and give thanks for His blessings,” Dr Ashraf said.

That is why, Dr Ashraf says, the community has been running a national peace campaign from their mosques across the UK, raising funds for local charities, holding blood donation drives and holding interfaith events. This is true Islam in practice.

“It is an immense honour that His Holiness was with us to inaugurate these two new mosques,” Dr Ashraf added.

As a symbol of the community’s loyalty to Britain and commemoration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, children waved Union flags and recited poems, and cheques were presented to the charities sponsored by the Mayors of Wolverhampton and Dudley.

Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad also planted a new tree at Baitul Ghafoor.
