Hyderabad, India: Police kick out Anti-Ahmadiyya mob forcibly occupying Ahmadiyya mosque

The Islamist clerics leading the mob claimed the minaret made the location look more ‘mosque- like’ and, therefore, they took over the building claiming “we will use it.”

Hyderabad: The Police successfully evicted an Islamist extremist mob that had forcibly occupied an Ahmadiyya Muslim mosque in Jedcharla, a town located about 50 miles from Hyderabad on the Bangalore-Hyderabad National Highway in India.

According to sources reporting from the scene, the police also recovered the keys and warned the mob leaders of serious consequences of any repeated disorder.

According to a reports filed by Shahid Pervez from India, the Ahmadiyya community of about 50 members in the town recently built a minaret at their center that sparked off excitement among the Islamist clerics of the area since several days.

On May 16, further according to the report, an angry mob of about 150 people attacked the mosque and forcibly removing the Ahmadiyya community members they illegally occupied the location.

The Islamist clerics leading the mob claimed the minaret made the location look more ‘mosque- like’ and, therefore, they took over the building claiming “we will use it.”

After the forced entry and occupation, the mob would not allow any member of the Ahmadiyya community to enter the location and the clerics carried on an anti-Ahmadiyya conference at the occupied site.

The matter was reported to the local police and with their cooperation and help the building was reclaimed by the rightful owners, it was reported.

Unlike Pakistan where police usually joins with the Islamist extremists and militants in oppressing Ahmadī muslims by defacing their properties and torturing and killing their elders, the Indian Ahmadī members praised the quick action by their law enforcement agencies.

 “…In India we have hope in the system and administration,” wrote Shahid Pervez conveying the sentiments of the local Ahmadī members.
