The Ameer (head) and Missionary-in-charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, Maulvi Dr. A. Wahab Adam has called on Ghanaians to show love and affection towards one another, as the country goes to the December elections.

According to him, despite our ethnic, religious and political diversity, we should not consider one another as enemies, but brethren who are prepared to pool all our ideas, talent and energies together, to build a united, happy, peaceful, harmonious, just and great country of both the present and future generations.

Maulvi Dr. Adam made the call when he delivered the last Friday Eid-ul- Adha sermon at Ashongman in Accra. Eid-ul-Adha, which is a sacrifice festival is celebrated by Muslims all over the world to mark the spectacular sacrifice by the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) of his only son, Ismail (Ishmael) with the active support of his spouse, Hajrah (Hagar) on all whom be peace, in willing obedience to Allah’s command.

He stated: “Guided by these sentiments, it should be possible for all stake holders to collectively work towards such free, fair and transparent elections, free from violence, intimidation and rancor, the result of which will compel acceptance by all”.

Dr. Adam continued: “We have succeeded in doing that five times already. We should all pray and resolve that we succeed in doing it again this year too, so as to prevent the unnecessary difficulties, anguish and pain that other countries go through as a result of bickering that surround these elections”.
