An Ahmadi is shot dead because of his faith earlier today, November 11, in satellite town area of Quetta, in Balochistan province of Pakistan.

Mr Manzoor Ahmad, a local businessman, was walking to work when he was targeted by killers riding on motorcycles, it is reported by Sadr Anjuman Ahmadiyya in Rabwah, Pakistan.

According to a statement issued by the press section of the community, Ahmad received two bullets in his forehead, killing him instantly.

The 33 years old victim was a well respected member of the community in Quetta, it is learnt.

He had two daughters aged, 12 & 8 while a young son of 6.

Ahmad is survived by his wife, two daughters, a son, and his parents in old age.

Mr. Salim-ud Din, a spokesperson of the Ahmadiyya community in Pakistan, said that the year 2012 has seen a significant rise in target killings  of Ahmadis in Pakistan.

Mr. Salim-ud Din demanded a swift government action to stop the Ahmadi killings which he says is a direct result of government-sponsored extremists groups who roam free without any regard of the law and morality.

The authorities have been repeatedly notified, says Salim-ud Din, but no action has been initiated by the government to protect the lives and proprieties of the Ahmadiyya community.

“After a series of Ahmadi target killings in Karachi, another young man’s murder in Quetta shows that anti-Ahmadi actions of the extremist elements know no boundaries,” said Salim-ud Din.

“They go on spreading anti-Ahmadi hatred everywhere,” Mr. Salim-ud Din added.
