Sierra Leone: As Samsung Activities ends; Ahmadiyya Clears All

At the end of the Samsung sporting activities at Goderich over the weekend, Ahmadiyya Muslim Junior Secondary School, Goderich, has been crowned the overall champions of the maiden edition of the Samsung OlympAfrica tournament which covered six sporting disciplines; football, Athletics, wrestling, touch, handball and cultural display.

The school emerged as the eventual champions after securing a total of 184 points to surpass UMC, who finished second, with 160 points and Agape, who finished third, with 157 points.

Before the end of the final, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) scribe Joseph Nyande held a meeting with over 10 Sporting Associations were he explained the four years quadrennial plan.

During the meeting, the NOC scribe said when this executive came to office, they made development of the sports infrastructure and sporting association as their main objective and priority in the strategic plan.

He stated that for this development plan to work, he went with A.G Koroma, the Administrative Secretary to an Olympic Solidarity Regional Forum in South Africa,in which the objective of this forum was for the Olympic Solidarity to intimate all NOCs,particularly the English- speaking ones, of its plan of activities for the next four years.

He also stated that their main objective was to train coaches for the National Associations and that is why during their term of four years, we applied for technical coaching course in Tennis, Cycling, Baskeball, Swimming, Fencing Wrestling and a host of others associations.
