The War According to Prophet Muhammad


In a piece in from “The Daily Beast” this week, Rashid wrote that “Prophet Muhammad is history’s first major figure to condemn collateral damage in word and deed.”

The week-long conflict between Israel and Hamas sparked a lot of references in the media to “collateral damage.”

That’s a phrase that makes Qasim Rashid cringe. Rashid is a lawyer and the National Spokesman for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He also writes about religion.

In a piece in from “The Daily Beast” this week, Rashid wrote that “Prophet Muhammad is history’s first major figure to condemn collateral damage in word and deed.”

Prophet Muhammad, he said, wrote specific rules of war in the Koran, which are meant to protect the innocent.
