Pakistan: Ahmadi man shot during October 19th Karachi target attack dies of injuries


According to the Ahmadiyya spokesperson in Pakistan, Mr. Saleemud Din, 10 Ahmadis have been killed in Karachi because of their faith during 2012 and their has been an alarming rise in anti-Ahmadiyya attacks.

An Ahmadi man who was seriously wounded in the October 19th target-attack in Baldia Town, Karachi, has succumbed to his injuries.

According to a press release issued by the Ahmadiyya Muslim community of Pakistan, Chaudhry Nusrat Mahmood, 68, died on November 28 in Karachi.

The Victim, a resident of New York, USA, was visiting Pakistan for the wedding of his daughter when he, his newlywed son-in-law, and several other family members were target-attacked after attending the Friday prayers at a local prayer center.

Unknown gunmen targeted the family because of their faith, it was determined by the authorities.

The attack, which had killed Mahmood’s newlywed son-in-law, Sa’ad Farooq, also left the rest of the victims in serious condition with life threatening bullet wounds.
Chaudhry Nusrat Mahmood was on life support system and died despite efforts by his doctors, it was reported.
Sa’ad Farooq’s brother Ama’ad Farooq, who had received a shot to his head, was transferred to the UK, where doctors successfully removed the bullet from behind his eye, it was reported by Ahmadiyya Times three weeks ago.

According to the Ahmadiyya spokesperson in Pakistan, Mr. Saleemud Din, 10 Ahmadis have been killed in Karachi because of their faith during 2012 and their has been an alarming rise in anti-Ahmadiyya attacks.
